Reuniting with my Dutch friends in the vast expanse of the Canadian Rockies was surreal. Celebrating this unique meetup, we hosted a classic family BBQ, complete with local brews like the 'Powder Hound' from The Grizzly Paw in Canmore, Alberta. It was a toast to international friendships under the Canadian sky.
Our first escapade began with an early morning ascent on the Banff Gondola to Sulphur Mountain. The view from the top is nothing short of spellbinding, a panorama I captured in immersive 360 VR. But before that, we fueled up with a hearty Canadian breakfast at Tim Hortons – a must for any adventurer.
The pinnacle of our adventure was a private helicopter ride with Rockies Heli Canada, soaring over Kananaskis and the majestic Rocky Mountains. The clear skies gifted us stunning video footage, even capturing the river featured in 'The Revenant.' Experience this aerial journey through my 360 VR footage and check out my tutorial for those new to VR technology.
What captivated us beyond the scenic vistas was the abundance of wildlife casually strolling past our RV at Banff's Tunnel Mountain Campgrounds. It was a living, breathing nature documentary!
Next week, I'll dive into our epic Lake Louise adventure, including a grueling 11-hour, 20-kilometer hike. After such an adventure, there’s nothing better than unwinding at the Banff Upper Hot Springs.
Wrapping up, we were blessed with perfect weather and blue skies throughout our journey. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Calgary, Banff, and Lake Louise in early June for the ultimate experience. Stay tuned for more adventures!
