Conquering The Gschwandtkopf Mountain In The Austrian Alps
Meeting up with my family in Seefeld at one of the most popular wintersport places in the Alps, these mountains were no match for us! Don't miss the Austrian beer and sausages, some of the best in Europe.
We started off at the Gschwandtkopf which is one of the more popular ski/snowboard mountains near Innsbruck.
I prepared for this day by practising better snowboarding skills at Glen Eden in Milton, Canada. I made a compilation of our days on the slopes which turned out quite nice.
We got a private snowboard instructor to teach my brother and I some new skills and showed us the way around the mountain.
It was literally a 3 minute drive from our stay in Seefeld. I primarily stayed on the blue and red slopes. Black diamonds are a little to crazy for me.
My brother and I explored a bit more of the area. He even decided to do a backflip of a shed (see video). It was such a fun day in the snow.
After 3 days of snowboarding I was spent and decided to go on a road trip to Neuschwanstein and Liechtenstein.
We had some epic eats at the SportAlm which is a restaurant at the foot of the mountain. You could basically snowboard right to the bar and grab a beer, ideal.
Also, check my post about the Rosshutte mountain, it is an even taller mountain in Seefeld.
