Halloween 2008 in Toronto
There isn't a better party in Toronto than Halloween when all the girls have a reason to dress scandalously, and the boys having problems staying focused.
This Halloween (2008) I decided to go to Maro Nightclub located at Liberty St. & Dufferin on a Friday night and Guvernment Nightclub on the Saturday night. A friend & I rushed to the Halloween store to buy some last minute goodies. It is awesome having a Halloween store around the block that closes after midnight.
I decided to dress up as クロロ=ルシルフル, Kuroro Rushirufuru from the anime series: HunterXHunter for the Friday and dress up as a Computer Geek on Saturday. Once we got to the club we noticed a humongous lineup at the door, at least 100-200 people were anxiously waiting to go inside.
Driving through the parking lot wasn't a great start, the entire lot was filled to the teeth. So we decided to park along the sideways figuring nobody would ticket us with a full parking lot.
Eventually we got the entire crew together and were ready to bounce inside but with 5 degrees Celsius it ain't fun for the girls dressed in bare lingerie. Lucky we knew some people promoting at the party and escorted us to the VIP entrance at the back of the club (coming with a group of 12 girls and 2 guys definitely has some benefits).
After all the girls entered - my buddy noticed that he forgot his ID unfortunately the bouncer did not believe he was 28 so he had no choice but to go back inline hoping to be lucky at the main doors which proved to be the right decision in the end. This is quite funny since the minimum age to get into the club is 19, that bouncer needs a new pair of glasses or my buddy is lucky for still looking like a teenager.
It was unbelievable how packed the club was, you couldn't move anywhere without hitting someone or accidentally bumping into a boob. Our booth was right in the center of the club overlooking the entire dance floor which made for a great Friday night.
On Saturday afternoon I rushed to get my second costume together. After buying some fake teeth, geeky glasses and a clipboard I was all ready to go (it was kind of funny that I already had most of the geek materials at home). Guvernment nightclub was a nice pick for the Saturday night. We left a predrink at my friends house in a luxury limo to facilitate us for a smooth ride to the club.
The geek costume was quite the hit at the party. They were even handing out a $5000 price money for the best costume, unfortunately there some really good costumes this year; a complete Wizard of Oz costume, a massive road pion.
