Doing Business In New York City At Trump Towers
Dropping in for business at the big apple aka New York City where I also ran into my mother and grandma who flew in from the Netherlands.
After a safe flight from Buffalo to JFK, where they shot the movie 'The Terminal', I took a cab to downtown Manhattan were I had a hotel booked at the Skyline Hotel.
My mother and grandmother were in town to do some sightseeing so it was incredible to meet them right in front of the hotel where we were all staying.
The tour bus was about to leave as well but allowed me a few minutes to move my suitcase to my suite so I could join my folks on a sweet ride through the Big Apple.
The next day, I had to visit a few clients in downtown New York.
My first meeting was at the Trump Towers near central park, my second meeting was at a nearby Starbucks.
After discussing the projects and contracts for hours - I finally was ready to further explore the city.
New York traces its roots to its 1624 founding as a trading post by colonists of the Dutch Republic, and was named New Amsterdam in 1626.
In 1609, English explorer Henry Hudson re-discovered the region when he sailed his ship the Halve Maen ("Half Moon" in Dutch) into New York Harbor while searching for the Northwest Passage to the Orient for his employer the Dutch East India Company.
He made a ten-day exploration of the area and claimed the region for his employer. In 1614 the area between Cape Cod and Delaware Bay would be claimed by the Netherlands and called Nieuw-Nederland (New Netherland).
