Celebrating New Years 2013 In My Hometown IJmuiden
It is becoming a tradition for me to fly back to Europe every Christmas to celebrate New Year's with family and friends.
Luckily the Mayans were wrong and the world didn't end thus time for a big celebration to finish 2012.
Lost of food was consumpted these holidays. Great dishes like bami, prie ovenschotel, boerenkool with worst and my home made sushi (introducing everyone to my killer caterpillar rolls).
My brother and I went to SnowPlanet once more but this time for the NYE party where eventually a massive brawl broke out and ended up with someone dying in the hospital.
6 SWAT vans had to pull roll into SnowPlanet to calm down the crowds. A total crazy way to enter 2013. Luckily we got ourselves a cabride home which seems impossible at the time.
On new years day we went to my uncle and auntie where I also met my cousins whom I had never met before.
We also paid a visit to the Greek restaurant around the block called Kreta where they served way too much food. Nobody could ever finish that plate, what a total waste of food.
I also went with my dad to the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem which had a rocking art collection with beautifully detailed paintings by Maerten Van Heemskerck, Cornelis Van Haerlem and of course Frans Hals himself.
We had a refreshing swim at the new pool in IJmuiden called the Heerenduinen, I must say they did a pretty good job on the new layout.
