Sailing On Lake Ontario Is The Best Summer Activity In Toronto
Renting a sailboat in Toronto couldn't be easier, at the Harbourfront you can choose from hobie cats, catamarans, J-24's and even kayaks. Amazing way to spend a hot summer day.
Hail skipper. Sailing on Lake Ontario definitely makes for fantastic times with friends or family. Especially during the warm Ontario summers.
It is important to reserve a boat before you go sailing, on a nice sunny day you can expect everything to be rented out.
We had to wait for 2 hours while relaxing in the grass for a boat to return but once on the lake all was forgotten and the adventure could begin.
Our friend Paul sailed the Caribbean for almost a year and taught us quite some tricks on the water. We encountered some serious problems initially since we had no idea which ropes to pull and we almost capsized the boat.
We rented the boat from Queens Quay Sailing and Powerboating, which I highly recommend.
They are conveniently located on Queen’s Quay, immediately south of the Rogers Centre (Skydome) – easily accessible from Downtown Toronto by foot, bicycle or car.
There is lots of public parking and the TTC stops right outside our door.
