Thank You Canada!
Thanking Canada for liberating the Dutch 70 Years ago from the clutches of Nazi Germany, celebrated at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto
Living as a Dutch-Canadian for the past 12 years has been one of the best experiences of my life. Canadians are definitely the nicest people on this planet.
It was an honor to meet a few war veterans from World War II and have a little chat about their time fighting the Nazis and the cities they conquered.
During the liberation festival attendees could enjoy some old Dutch traditional games such as, sjoelen (shuffleboard), stelten-lopen and zak-lopen.
There even was a little flee market and draaiorgel (barrel organ).
After the festivities we went to my friend's house party where my mom enjoyed the company of my friend's Pomeranians.
Throughout her stay we also visited the magical Webster Falls in the Hamilton area and the Ontario Badlands in the Caledon area of which I created separate videos.
To wrap up my mom's vacation I took her to paint lounge on College Str. in Toronto to bring out her creative side.
