Eating Cow Brains
Watch me try raw cow brains in Barcelona, one of my craziest food adventures yet. This dish is known as 'Sesos' in Spanish. It has a creamy texture when cooked and in other Spanish cultures they may serve it in tacos.
Some recipes call for the brain to be soaked in cold water for about two hours or overnight before cooking. Soaking the brain helps draw out the blood and impurities. The water may need to be changed several times until it is clear. Cooked brains may be seasoned with lemon, pepper and salt for added flavor.
I purchased the cow brains for 2.80 euros at Menuts Rosa butchery at the Mercado de la Boqueria food market in Barcelona.
