Hong Kong is a magical place, especially for its vibrant nightlife. It surprised me how little is known about all the amazing venues and places to party. Most tourists and travellers stay in the popular LKF (Lan Kwai Fong) nightlife district and not venturing out to the other exciting districts in the city, which is a big mistake!

Best Places for Nightlife in Hong Kong
1. Ozone
Highest bar in the world located on the 118th floor of the ICC building which is world's 4th tallest. Beers start at $102 HKD or $13 USD.
2. Eyebar
Coolect rooftop bar in Tsim Sha Tsui with the best view of Hong Kong with an outdoor patio, beers also cost $100 HKD, roughly $13 USD.
3. The China Bar
Most popular bar on Knutsford terrace in the Kowloon nightlife district, often featuring live bands on weekends. Entrance is FREE!
4. Arena Bar by Zerve
Amazing sports and digital ping pong bar unknown to most tourists great for predrinking.
5. Pong Knutsford
Another great bar for ping pong and darts, great music and an awesome local vibe. Beers start $72 HKD or $9 USD.
6. Showtime Bar
Just like Arena and Pong, Showtime is also focused on sports and interactive games, a great place to start or finish your night in Hong Kong.
To start off, grab a few cocktails at the highest bar in the world located on the 118th floor of the ICC building, currently world's 4th tallest building with stunning views of the Hong Kong skyline. 7. The Ring Esport Bar
Best bar/nightclub in Kowloon for being an ESPORTS bar with Street Fighter 2, Mario Kart and Fifa. They even have Edelweiss beer on draft!
8. The Iron Fairies
Most beautiful bar in Hong Kong Central, perfect for a date night out, often features Jazz bands. Do not touch the fairies, they are cursed.
9. Slide on 79
Excellent dive bar across from the Iron Fairies, perfect for predrinking and mingling with locals, expats and tourists.
10. Goughs on Gough
Classy restaurant/lounge on Gough street with a piranha tank at the entrance, so if you cannot finish your steak you can feed it to the fishies.
11. Wahtiki Island Lounge
Another perfect date spot is Wahtiki Hawaiian lounge. Order the delicious beach boy grog cocktail for $140 HKD or $18 USD, a trip to paradise.

Halloween with new friends at Karma Lounge in LKF, Hong Kong
I visited Hong Kong during Halloween, widely known to be the best time of the year! During my stay I ventured out to the Lan Kwai Fong district to join the popular Hong Kong Pub Crawl, they had a massive turn-out resulting in one of the most fun parties I have ever attended. Especially in Hong Kong, I definitely recommend this because nightclubs and drinks are very expensive.
13. Geronimo Shot Bar
Popular shot bar at the LKF and often the HK Pub Crawl starting point with great views of the LKF.
14. Le Jardin Club
Cozy garden bar, hidden deep in the LKF (Lan Kwai Fong) nightlife district. Definitely worth a visit!
15. Fire N Ice
Excellent dive bar in the heart of LKF, young crowd, loud beats, mostly visited by tourists and expats.
16. Karma Lounge
Super fun lounge next to Fire N Ice, they have a secret lounge upstairs where you can enjoy drinks and views of LKF.
17. Dragon-i
Most upscale nightclub in LKF, this place is visited by high-rollers, a mature crowd and international models. If you have money to spend, than this is the place for you.
18. HQ by Terrace Concepts
Perfect bar for an epic night out, especially during Halloween, most of these blog photos where taken at HQ during Halloween night.
The Hong Kong nightlife has two major districts; LKF (Lan Kwai Fong) in HK-Central with bars Le Jardin Club, Karma Lounge, the Iron Fairies and Wahtiki Lounge. The second district is Knutsford Terrace in Kowloon with excellent bars; The China Bar, Arena by Zerve and my favorite The Ring Bar which is an esports nightclub with Street Fighter, Mario Kart and FIFA soccer you can freely play, the best thing: Edelweiss beer on tap, my favorite beer in the world.
19. Zentral
Most popular nightclub in LKF, located on the 32nd floor, young crowd, bottle service & pumping beats. This is often where the pub crawl ends so you won't have to pay the expensive cover.
20. Volar
My favorite nightclub in LKF for its large dance floor, dark atmosphere, excellent beats and local crowd but isn't cheap. Entrance is $200 HKD or $25 USD. Beers sets you back $121 HKD or $15 USD.
halloween in Hong Kong at HQ
LKF known by the locals as 'bad white people place'. To say there is a specific bar that stands out I would be lying. SOHO and LKF districts are packed with incredible bars and nightclubs, all within walking distance.
The best party I attended in Hong Kong was a private Halloween jam at HQ by Terrace Concepts. HQ did a great job decorating their venue with bloody bodies. The crowd was super friendly, excellent beats and a large outdoor patio with bottle service. If it is a regular Saturday night, then I highly recommend Zentral to mingle with the locals, it is an excellent nightclub and not too touristy.
Hong Kong Pub Crawl in LKF, the best party in town
The great thing about Hong Kong is almost everyone speaks English, so unlike Japan, it is a lot easier to mingle and make new friends here.
Food in Hong Kong can be very cheap if you know where to go, consider freshly steamed pork buns from the 711 convenience store, or a delicious bowl of ramen from Bari Uma, but my favorite after party food are thefreshly grilled spicy thai chicken skewers with peanut sauce for just $16 HKD, just $2 US dollars per skewer at Thainan Chicken, a fantastic deal for any budget traveller.

Nightlife in Hong Kong often keeps going until 6am at the earliest. 6am is the perfect time to visit Victoria Peak since everyone will be sleeping, so you can watch the sunrise all by yourself. Taking a taxi to Victoria peak is dirt cheap, if there is one thing in Hong Kong that is cheap it is 100% the taxis.
Hotels & Airbnb in Hong Kong Central can be very pricey, so if you are on a budget consider staying in the Causeway bay area, or Mong Kok area. Please do avoid staying at the Chungking Mansions guesthouses, rumor has it that the building is very dirty and loaded with cockroaches.

In conclusion, the Hong Kong Nightlife was better than I expected, however it did take a few days to get familiar with the nightlife districts to find the best bars & nightclubs.The city offers so many great places to drink and party but if you are new to Hong Kong, do not forget to join the Hong Kong Pub Crawl for just $18 USD with 10% discount, you cannot go wrong!
