Disturbing Nazi Photos At Topography Of Terror In Berlin
Topography of Terror is a huge documentation site and carries with it many of Berlin's history. It sits on the ruins of the former SS and Gestapo headquarters.
The site became a center for a communal form of documentation hanging photos, documents and posters that stressed the activities injustice, and crimes of the Gestapo and the SS under the umbrella of Nazism.
When you enter the Topography of Terror, you are immediately overwhelmed with the amount of photos and photographic essays surrounding you on the walls and hung from the ceiling.
You are overwhelmed even more when you read that the building you are touring was the previous headquarters of the Nazi secrete police (Gestapo) and the Nazi paramilitary organization the Schutzstaffel (SS).
Disturbing were the Nazi propaganda posters, the racial purity identification card and photos of some of the terrible atrocities commited by the Nazis.
