DaizyStripper Live at Anime North 2014
Visit the largest Japanese anime, many and cosplay convention in Canada. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
One of my favorite events of the year is by far Anime North. A 3-day event held every last weekend of May.
This year I cosplayed as VEGA from Street Fighter II complete with mask and claw although I didn't draw the snake tattoo due to all the sunlotion I had to keep re-applying throughout the day.
The last weekend of May is always hot and we all consider it to be the official first weekend of Summer.
It was remarkable that I ran into the band members of DaizyStripper the minute I walked onto the convention area.
I had some epic battles with Chun-li, Ryu, Akuma & Sakura, supposedly Mr. Bison and Cammy were also seen on the premises but unfortunately I couldn't locate them.
In the evening I met up with my friend Keely Valentine who was performing on stage on Friday and gained us access to the DaizyStripper concert on Saturday which was officially sold out.
Anime North draws 25.000 people annually and it is one of the biggest conventions in North-America.
I like Anime North more than Comiket in Tokyo. Comiket during the Summer in Tokyo is unbearable with 40+ degrees at 100% humidity in comparision with Anime North where there is usually a comfortable cold breeze.
Dan The Video Ninja interviewed me as VEGA, the interview can be seen on YouTube.
Suprisingly upon leaving I drove into a bunch of guys drifting around the premise, one of them took me for a spin. Cosplay & Tokyo-Drifting results in an epic weekend.
I fell in love with the songs at the DaizyStripper concert on Saturday, it was an incredible performance and hope they will perform in Canada again.
DaizyStripper is a very popular Visual Kei band who produces some amazing tracks. You can view the concert video I took below and one of their official video clips.

Anime North was founded by Toronto anime fan Donald Simmons in 1997 as a one day mini-convention with approximately 600 attendees. The original venue was the Michener Institute in downtown Toronto.
