Shinkansen Stopover In Shizuoka For A Taste Of Raw Tuna
My last stop on my way back to Tokyo, during my 7 day city hop through Japan, was in Shizuoka. The city is known for its mouthwatering tuna, green tea and wasabi.
My final stop on the way back to Tokyo. I was truly exhausted after my 7 day intense city hop adventure and only wanted to spend a few hours in Shizuoka.
Shizuoka is a nice quite city between Nagoya and Tokyo. It is not as busy as Osaka or Tokyo but does deliver that pure Japanese cultural vibe.
I tried some of their famous Udon dishes alongside a bowl of freshly chopped Tuna sashimi.
I also discovered another 109 shopping mall in the Shizuoka city center. Seems like 109 is setting up franchises, hopefully it will make its way to the Western world on day.
Shimizu Port boasts the largest haul of tuna in all Japan. Kanbara Harbour enjoys a prosperous haul of sakura ebi, and Mochimune Harbour enjoys a prosperous haul of shirasu sardines.
Another renowned model brand, Bandai, produces its Gundam models exclusively at its Bandai Hobby Center plant in the town since its inception.
