Tokyo BBQ Party in Japan
What can you expect at a BBQ in Tokyo? I recorded a video at a BBQ party which my friends organized near Shinkiba Station where they also rented a BBQ tent and utilities. An all-inclusive BBQ experience!
What better than to be invited to a BBQ party by a friend who I met back in 2009 and she introduced me to some great people.
The BBQ party took place near Shinkiba station in Koto-ku which has a peninsula stretching into the Tokyo Bay.
On the menu was Yakisoba, sausages, veggies, beef and of course coolers full alcohol. What a great way to spend the Tuesday afternoon.
The location was pretty awesome since you can rent the BBQ tent and equipment at the site instead of carring everything around.
We had a watergun fight at the BBQ which is quite common in Japan in order to stay cool during the piping hot summer days.
I brought a bottle of champagne for a champagne-shower surprise but I slipped due to my clumsiness once I popped the bottle (see video).
Afterwards we went to Roppongi for a feast at an amazing Izakaya on the south-west corner of the Roppongi Crossing.
We kept drinking and ordered some fantastic dishes; grilled fish, green tea soba, cooked rice and best of all; Eihire which is dried stingray and absolutely delicious with mayonnaise.
I want to thank my friends for showing me such an amazing time today in Tokyo.
