Before we attend a ParaPara event in Tokyo our group usually meets up for dinner somewhere in the city. We often end up at the most unusual places, on this occasion at Michi Takoyaki Restaurant in Itabashi which is known for playing Eurobeat music and offering incredibly delicious takoyaki dishes which are fried octopus pieces in dough balls.
It was a special night since Eurobeat artists Domino & Lolita aka GoGo Girls flew all the down to Tokyo from Italy for their Japan 2017 tour during which they gave a live performance at Maharaja Nightclub in Roppongi. Maharaja is famous for organizing Eurobeat, Hyper Techno, Disco 80's & 90's ParaPara dancing nights.
Domino & Lolita gave a fantastic show with many popular songs from the Eurobeat series like Euroboy, King & Queen and Try Me. It was also Lolita's birthday thus the Japanese do as they always do and go all out with a stacked pyramid of champagne glasses and a cake.
The best time to be in Japan is definitely during the Halloween season since you will be able to find incredible and fun Halloween events all over the metropolis, even this ParaPara halloween event at Maharaja nightclub where lots of attention to detail is spent on costume design.
Sadly, the restaurant Michi in Itabashi, where the delicious photos below are from, does not exist anymore but plenty of other restaurants with similar dishes can be found in and around Tokyo.
Make sure to watch the entire GoGo Girls playlist of the live performance at Maharaja on my Reformatt Japan YouTube channel. Also, if you want to learn ParaPara than basic ParaPara @ RhyZme is a great first place to start.
In conclusion, the Maharaja ParaPara nights are usually the biggest event I look forward to each time I visit Japan. The people, the atmosphere and the music are all the right ingredients to keep me wanting more.
