Dutch Christmas in Holland
Every winter I return to my hometown of IJmuiden to celebrate Christmas with my family and enjoy the ridiculously delicious foods and warm cozy evenings.
Getting a sandwich with raw herring, which is a traditional Dutch snack, is usually the first thing I get from the harbor of IJmuiden.
The view from the airplane before landing was mesmerizing. I took photos of my hometown and the beach from up high.
My brother organized a fun dinner party at his house where they cooked up a storm. South-African Bobotie, rice and garlic bread.
During the evening we played Buzz!, a hilarious quiz-based PS3 game alongside some Dutch smokey treats.
We organized Christmas dinner together with my dad at Kreta which is a popular Greek restaurant in Velsen.
The next day I went over to my buddies place where we had an incredible sushi dinner.
We partied until the early morning while having a Crazy Hat Sundays - Holland Edition.
It is great to see family and friends again, it just sucks its only once a year.
