I would describe them as a J-pop heavy metal band consisting of an Australian crossdressing wrestler (aka Ladybeard) and 2 Japanese teenage girls.
The concert started off with an intro trailer, followed by their signature song Nippon Manju, the energy at Shibuya WWW was intense, the Japanese truly know how to have a great time!
The members of Ladybaby even started to staged dive at one point while Ladybeard blew me a kiss!
Knowing where these events take place can be pretty hard in Tokyo since most websites and flyers are Japanese only, so I recommend teaching yourself some basic Japanese skills before attending.
They were even featured on the Huffington Post and at YouTube fanfest Japan 2015 showing that they are truly making an impact.
In an interview last year, Ladybeard calls his style of music "kawaiicore" and states "I sing heavy metal covers of J-pop songs, combining my love for kawaii pop with my love of heavy metal. And I try to look as pretty as possible whilst doing so," Ladybeard said.
He formed Ladybaby earlier this year with teen singers Rie Kaneko and Rei Kuromiya, and when releasing their first music video, "Nippon Manju" ("Japanese Bun"), an ode to all the things they love about Japan.
While Ladybaby clearly serves a marketing purpose, the group has taken on a life of its own.
Their single "Nippon Manju," in which Ladybeard growls a list of Japanese tourist attractions, became a viral hit with its fast-paced, travelogue-style video.
Double check their event schedule on their website to see them live and be blown away by their performance!
